CDPAP MLTC Reimbursement Changes: What Providers Need to Know

In the recent Medicaid Managed Care Policy & Planning Meeting held on May 9th, the New York Department of Health announced changes to how MCOs will reimburse Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) for administrative expenses.

Specifically, effective July 1st, 2024, plans will be required to reimburse FI administrative expenses in accordance with the Medicaid FFS rates and methodology that was passed in 2022. Plans will be paid by the State on a non-risk basis, potentially reducing the overall reimbursement paid to providers.
