As providers have observed, some initial authorizations sent from Healthfirst were loaded with all units/hours under the TV modifier, where you may have been expecting separate authorizations with or without the TV modifier.
To ensure that you can bill as expected, HHAeXchange and Healthfirst will be adjusting the export codes to remove the TV modifier.
What does this mean for you?
Existing authorizations will remain as is, including the TV modifier, and will need to be scheduled and confirmed with the TV Modifier in HHAeXchange; however, claims sent out from HHAeXchange will not include the TV Modifier.
- This change will allow for billing authorized weekday services.
- Any submissions for authorized services already sent with the TV modifier will still be accepted and processed by Healthfirst.
- Going forward, any authorized services performed on a weekend or holiday will be exported without the TV modifier, and still be accepted and processed by Healthfirst.
This update is scheduled to occur on: Monday November 21, 2022.
Please review your Healthfirst Contract Services Codes to confirm this change, and if you do not see the Export Code updated to contact Support.
