As we move towards the next step of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) implementation, the Missouri Department of Social Services (MODSS) will begin the process of matching all claims for services requiring EVV to visits in the EVV Aggregator Solution (EAS).

Claims validation will require a change in the way providers submit EVV visits for accrued minutes to the EAS. To prepare for this change, EVV vendors must make updates to include a new reason code as described below.

Reason Code 280 for Accrued Minutes Visit has been added to the specifications to allow providers the ability to manually enter accrued minutes visits. EVV vendors must make this configuration change prior to November 19, 2025.

The rules below apply to Reason Code 280 effective November 19,2025:
- Providers/Vendors must submit the accrued minutes visit during the month it was accrued.

- Only 1 Accrued Minutes Visit is allowed per day, per client, per procedure code/modifier.

- There is no unit restriction, duration must be divisible by 15 (e.g., 30 minutes, 45 minutes).

- Visits must include all required data elements to be in a verified status.

Failure to make these configuration changes will result in visit rejections.
The latest version of the EVV Vendor Specification V11.0 is located on the MO DSS EVV website.
